Pine Ridge Retreat
P.O. Box 700, Bainbridge
Back woods lodging with modern comforts adjoining Pike State Forest and 1.8 miles from Pike Lake. Minutes from Seven Caves Nature Preserve, Magic Waters Amphitheater, Paint Valley Jamboree, Tecumseh, Indian Mounds, Rocky Fork Lake, Paint Creek, Lake White, Country Crust Bakery and JR's General Store, State ATV trails, and much more. There are just under 12,000 acres of State Forest to explore just off our property. Hike for miles without ever getting into your car. You can also enjoy your visit with fishing, boating, Frisbee golf or just exploring the hills. Other interests in the area are antique shopping in Chillicothe, the first capitol of Ohio, it is just a hop, skip and jump away with plenty of shopping opportunities. There are 33 miles of bridle trail located in the forest as well as many hiking trails. Hiking is also permitted on the bridle trails. Bird watching, photography, collecting nuts, berries, and mushrooms are all pursuits which hikers may take advantage of. For those who want to stay on the beaten path, there are numerous county and township roads that pass through the forest. One of these roads is where our Greenbriar Ranch is located. During the spring the red bud and flowering dogwood trees provide spectacular displays of color, not to mention all the wildflowers that blanket the forest floor. Our hills come alive again in the fall with a panorama of vivid colors. Alas you have the celebration of the Fall Festival of Leaves in Bainbridge, which is every third weekend in October.
