The First National Bank Jingle Bell Festival starts with the Lighting of Canal Park in Waverly on Thursday night with thousands of lights being turned on by the Jingle Bell Committee.
The celebration kicks off on Friday night with a Spaghetti Dinner (cost) and the annual Candy Cane Variety Show (admission) at the new Waverly High School auditorium.
Saturday morning the Jingle Bell 5K Run starts at 8:00 a.m. b>Breakfast with Santa (cost) and other children's activities will also take place on Saturday.
Opening at 10:00 a.m. is huge Indoor Craft Show at the Waverly Downtown gym on Second St.
At noon the doors open for the Wine Tasting and Art Show (admission) featuring a variety of wines and showcasing works of Southern Ohio artists, including members of the Pike Arts Guild. This will be held in the main lobby of the First National Bank, Market St. Waverly, just past the Emmitt House. Parking is available in the Emmitt House parking lot or along the street.
A Chili Cook Off, Quilt Show and other activities also take place on Saturday.
A Kiddie Tractor Pull on Market Street will also be on Saturday at noon.
The Queen's Luncheon is a special Saturday event as is the largest night time illuminated Christmas Parade in Southern Ohio that begins at 5:00 p.m. and winds through the streets of Waverly.
Immediately following the parade is a special Christmas Play for children (adults welcome, too!) Lantern Tours (cost) begin at approximately 7 p.m. and feature stories by local historian and playwright Delmar Burkitt. High Tea on Sunday, 2-5 p m.
